If a Tree Falls in the Forest and No One Is There to Hear It, Does It Make a Sound?
YES!
NFT’s seem like a scam. When you read about guys like Beeple, they seem like overnight successes. What kind of artist can make $100 million in one year selling NFT’s?!? It seems outrageous. But… the global market for private art trading has been estimated at $50 billion per year. Before NFT’s, before Beeple, someone was making $100 million a year selling art. We just didn’t know about him.
The mainstream media (and that includes finance podcasts in my opinion) won’t inform us of hidden opportunities.
We will instead be told that “risk and reward” have a positive relationship (i.e. the greater the risk the greater reward), that we should invest in low-cost indices, and that certain hedge funds are ‘bad’ because they made money during the pandemic.
You can only develop outsized returns by developing your network. This is finding the trees before they fall. Your network will create unique investment opportunities. You won’t develop your network by following other people’s stories. We can’t become wealthy by following mainstream advice.
