Meet Noah Murad

Noah Murad is an entrepreneur, investor, and author.

In 2012, he co-founded Bluestar Equity and began acquiring businesses. Since then co-founded, acquired, and sold hundreds of companies across construction, manufacturing, logistics, retail, software, and financial services.

He has exited companies to private equity firms, strategic buyers, a public listing, and in complex distressed situations.  From 2020 to 2023 he transitioned from operating his companies to running Bluestar Equity as his family’s primary investment vehicle. Today Bluestar spans legal, wealth management, insurance, real estate, accounting, and private equity funds, with a team of over 150 serving clients across Canada and the United States.

Prior to his business career, Noah was an accomplished musician, performing professionally at a young age.

In 2026, he co-authored Freedom by Acquisition: From Search to Exit with his brother Jacob. His work has been featured in well known Canadian publications, and he has lectured at academic and professional institutions on entrepreneurship and mergers and acquisitions. He spends most of his free time with his family, staying active, and pursuing interests across a range of disciplines.

Noah holds an MBA from Athabasca University and a BA from the University of Western Ontario. He lives in Thornhill, Ontario, with his wife and four children.

I’ve spent twenty-fi ve years around dealmakers, and most books
on buying businesses are either theory or bravado. This one is
neither. Noah and Jacob Murad walk you through the whole
journey, search to exit, and they don’t skip the part where it all
fell apart. Their honesty about the receivership, the lawsuits, and
what they learned about resilience is worth the price of the book
alone. If you’ve ever wondered whether you could own a business
instead of just working in one, start here.
